BOXING.

A meeting of the committee of the Christchurch Sporte' Club was held on September 28th, when-the secretary reported that all arrangements had been completed for the match for the professional feather-weight contest between J. Hagerty and Theo. Burns at the King's Theatre on October 15th- It was decided to hold as preliminaries a light-weight novice competition and a special bout between two prominent amateurs. The secretary reported that a programme for Show morning, November Bth, had been arranged and that articles had been posted to Ireland and Lowe, the heavy-weight contestants, for signature. Mr H. Sharplin wrote agreeing to act as referee on October loth.
