TAWERA COUNTY COUNCIL.

; TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PRESB." Sir,—Re "Ratepayer's" letter in Saturday's issue of "The Press," it is not my intention to answer the state-: ments in detail, as most of them are so grossly contrary to fact that I shall let them' pass. ' All I wish to state is

that I challenge "Ratepayer" to call a meeting of ratepayers, and if he and his friends can show that the present Council has done anything detrimental to the best interests of the district, or has favoured any section of the ratepayers, my colleagues and myself are prepared to resign in a body and givo the better men a chance. The meeting to be advertised at, least once in each of tho »r.orning papers. The County Council office, Springfield, is available at any time for" the purpose. —Yours, etc., JAMES SEYMOUR, Chairman Tawera County Council. October Ist.
