The Porto has pent a protest to Montenegro, narrating that 60 Montenegrins attacked an ammunition column on tho shore of Lake Scutari, killing six Turkish soldiers and two boatmen. Tho latter's bodies wore mutilated. Eighteen soldiors and nine boatmen wero captured and stripped, and then sent to Scutari. CETTINJE, September 29. In resi>onso to the representations of tho Powers, tho Montenegrin Government has promised to do its utmost to maintain peace, adding that its preservation depends to a large degree on the Porto's attitude.
