BOROUGH COUNCILS.
RANGIORA
The monthly meeting of the Rangiora Borough Council was held on Friday evening. Present—The Mayor (Mr J. feansom), Crs. Ayers. Boyd, Bell,. Bridget. Dix, Jennings, Jordan, Smith, and Walker. Letters were received from the Prime Minister and from the Hob. D , . Buddo, stating that the matter of forming <t track through Lees Valley, to open up country-i-n the back, would receive immediate attention. A circular was received from the National Peace Council'putting forth their views, and it was decided that tho letter lie on the table.
The extension at the gasworks was reported as completed, and working satisfactorily.
The foreman of works recommended the .tarring of several footpaths.. and it was decided to have the work carried out. He also stated that several persons, had neglected the trimming of their fences after receiving due notice, and the Council agreed that unless sxt*tended to in seven days, the work would be done and the owners charged for the same. v
A motion to increase the gas manager's salary by £50 was negatived.
