Judge Palmer and Judge Rawson letfc for Wellington by the Mararoa last night. Mr G. Jameson left for Wellington last night. Mr F. A. Pyne returned from Wellington by the Mararoa yesterday. Mr James Jamieson, of Messrs J. and W. Jamieson, of this city, roturned from a visit to England yesterday. Mr Thomas Brown left for Dunedin by tho second express yesterday. Arrivals in town include Messrs H. Overton (Hawke's Bay), J. Allen, W. W. H. Edwards, B, Robertson (Dunedin), D. D. Macfarlane (Lyndon), A. E. Harding, W. R. Richardson (Auckland), and H. H. Fisher (Albury). In St. Paul's Schoolroom, Papanni, a farewell social gathering was tendered to Mr and Mrs G. IST. Orniandy last night, on the occasion of their departure from the district. Mr Ormandy was a well-known resident, and was at ono timo a football representative of the province. The enthusiastic nature of last night's proceedings showed how popular he was. Mr J. A. Young, M.P. for Waikato, who was recently married, was enter-

tauicd by tuo members of tho Reform Party at Wellington last evening. On their behalf, the Prime Minister handed to Inm for Mrs Young a silver tea service, tendering it with the gooa wishes of the party. Opportunity was taken by Mr Massey (telegraphs our Wellington correspondent) to welcome the new member of the party, Mr C. A. Wi'kinson. Tho toasts,of Mr and Mrs Young, of Mr Wilkinson, and of the Prime Minister were enthusiastically honoured.
