Tho wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom amounts to 2,830,000 quarters, for the Continent, 155,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments, 172,000 ouarters. The total shipments to Europe for the week amounted to 900,000 quarters, includ.n £ Argentina 135.000, Russian 153,000, Danubian 87.000, j.ndian 148,000, Australasian 8000. Leather —Leather is very firm. Best heavy Melbourne and Sydney, Is, Is 3d. Pig Iron—6os 6d. AMERICAN WHEAT CROP. NEW YORK, August 11. Tho Agricultural Bureau estimates that tho winter wheat crop will amount to 390,000.000 bushels, and the spring to 290,000,000. BRITISH CROP REPORT. (Received August 12th, 11.35 p.m.) LONDON, August 12. "Tho Times's" crop report places the British wheat yield at 90.4, tho barky yield at 93.7, and the oats yield at 84.75. SYDNEY PRODTCE. (Received August 12th, 8.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 12. Butter has declined 4s per cwt. Bran has advanced 5s per ton. (Received August 12th, 11.35 p.m.) Wheat is quoted at 4s 2Jd to 4s 3d. Potatoes and onions are at, famine prices. Local potatoes are unprocurable. New Zealand lots brought £10 per ton. Onions—Japanese £21 per ton. A few Victorians are offering at £24 per ton. Lamb. —The market is steady and fair business is doing There is good demand for prime quality lnmbs. Canttrbury ojd tr; 6cl, other than Canterbury 5d to 5Jd. Beef. —Tho. market is somewhat steadier. New Zealand hinds 3sd, fores 3}d. Butter. —The market is uuiet but steady, with a good demand for best quality of New Zealand butter, which is firmly held by second hands. Choicest New Zealand 116s, Australian 112s, Danish 1295, Siberian 103s. Cheese --Thi* market remains firm. \i'W Zealand white 65s 6d, coloured 66s 6d. Canadian Is less, English Cheddar 735. Hemp.—The hemp market is firm at nn advance in prices, and there is a better demand. On spot New Zealand good fair £26 per ton; fnir curlent Manila £26 ss, forward shipment, August-October, New Zealand good fiur grade, £28 per ton, fair grade £25 10s; fair current Manila £26 10s. The output from Manila for the week im« 25,00.0 bales. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., advise having received a cablegram from London giving the undernoted market information: — "Frozen market is firmer for mutton, steadier for lamb, but is slightly weaker for beef." AMBERLEY. There was a very small entry at the Amberley sales yesterday, only about 400 sheep and 20 cattle being yarded. Prices were:—Fat wethers to 20s, fat owes 13s to lGs. two-tooth breeding ewes 22s Gd. sound-mouth do. 19s, and faijing-mouth 13s 6d. Cattle—Springers to £9, and fat cows £8 to £10.
