ROAD BOARDS.
ARAROA AND WAINUL The monthly meeting of the Alraroa and Wainui Road Board was held at Duvauchelle on Saturday. Present?*— ■Messrs G. Mulcock (chairman), A. Chapman, C. Richfield, and. RV Pettigrew. An application from the Peninsula Technical Association that the Board appoint two managers to represent them resulted' in the return of •Messrs G. Armstrong and G. Checkley. A complaint from Mrs J. G. Lelievre as to tho bad state of Balgueri was received, and it was resolved' that tho foreman attend to the work at onco. A petition was received from the settlors in Piper's Valley asking that the road through tho valley be made ready for traffic before the milking season commenced. It • was ' decided that tenders be called for procuring and spawling 200 yards of metal. Mr T. Masefiela complained that the Gough's Bay road was badly in need of repair, and that the workmen had left three culverts blocked. It was • decided -. that members inspect the road. It was resolved to call applications for foreman and 'surfacemen. at 9s 6d and 8s 6d per day, with no .concessions for grass-seeding and shearing, or 9s and 8s with concessions. Mr Pettigrew reported having inspected the sites of the proposed bridges in Robinson's Valley, and upon his recommendation it was decided that two bridges bo constructed at an approximate cost of £100.
