SYDNEY, August 10,

Tlio dispute between the Federal and State Governments over the Governor-General's residence in Sydney has been settled. Lord Dtenman remains in possession, tho Federal Government paying rental amounting to about £4500 yearly, rental being reckoned at the into of 3J per cent, on tho capital value, which depends on tho area of land required.

This arrangement only holds good during Lord Denman's tenure of office, at the.expiration of which tho residence reverts to the State.
