WON BY LYTTELTON. Tho final gamo in this competition was played between Linwood A and Lyttelton, on the south ground at Lancaster Park simultaneously with tho representative match. After a hard-fought forward struggle, the game ended in a draw, each side registering 3 points. From the kick off Lyttelton attacked, but Linwood defended safely, and gradually wor** their opponents down. Prom a scrum in thc Port twenty-five, Linwood secured the ball, and Watts setting his backs afoot saw Hooper, Yates, and Jack handlo the ball in-succession, the last-named giving a fine pass to Piercy, who dashed over. Dixon failed at goal. In a loose rush near the end of the s-pell, Dixon failed to gather the ball, and McGerty scored. Play m the second spell was of a fast and open nature, each side making desperate, but unsuccessful, efforts to score, and the match ended without any further scorn.
