SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
Tho monthly meeting of the Richmond iScliDil Committee was held on Tuesday. The master's report showed sin average attendance of *609, with a roll number of 719. Tho Education Board wrote acceding to the committee's request to demolish the headmaster's house, and thus enlarge tho girls' playground. In connection with tho proposed holiday for Arbor Day, it was decided, us in the past, to take no action. In order to raise funds for the improvement of the grounds, it was deckled to hold a fancy fair on or about December 18th. A vote of svmpatliy and condolence was passed to' Mrs D. Cochrane on tho death of her husband, who was for many years a member of tiie ooniimcteo. It was decided, owing to the deplorable condition of tho infants" playground, to form a working boe to grr.rie the same, and to request tiie Board to provide screening for top dreeing.
