GERALDINE.

The monthly meeting of the Geraldino Road Board was held on Tuesday. The chairman welcomed Mr "Wilkinson, who took his seat at the meeting for the first time, and congratulated him on Ms recovery from a recent serious accident. Tho overseer reported that tho contractor for the new bridge at Sharp's crossing, on the Kakahu, had not made any preparations to commence tho work. It was . resolved that the contractor should bo written to. informing him that unless he gave definite information as to when he was prepared to make a start, his deposit would be forfeited. It was decided, in the event of the contract being cancelled, that the Board should order the timber required, and call tor fresh tenders. A letter was received from the Department ot Lands and Survey stating that £500 had been set aside for the construction of roads in the Four Peaks Settlement. It was mentioned that the work would probably be undertaken by the Public "Works Department.
