SPRINGFIELD HACK RACING CLUB.
At tho annual meeting of tho Springfield Hack Racing Club Mr Jan. Seymour (President) was in tho chair. The balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of £30 Is Ud, with v liabilixv of _1 10s and outstanding subscriptions of £5, whs adopted. Mr Geo. Rutherford wrote, resigning his membership of the Club owing t:> his removal to so great a distance. Mr Geo. Eraser moved, and Mr Jus. Taylor seconded:—"That tho thanks of the' Club be accorded to Mr Rutherford for the valuable as-istnnco ho had always given to the Club. Regret wa 8 expressed at the loss to the district of so good a sportsman. This wan carried unanimously,, and Mr Rutherford was elected a life member of tho Club. The secretary was granted an honorarium of £o. It was resolved to bold a raco meeting on similar lines and about the same date as last year. The following officers wero elected:—Patron, Mr W. J. Dickie, M.P.: President, Mr J.-is. Seymour; vicepresidents, Messrs C_s<_y, Knight, H. Mcllraith, sen., and Smith; stewards. : Meissrs J C. Evans, Goo. Fraser, W. Dorman, .H. Mcllraitb, jmi.; H. Ferguson.- G. P. Field, Frederick Mcllruith, Geo. Ferguson and RMilliken; judge, Mi' K. O. Duncan; -starter. Mr W Gilchrist; handicappcr for trots,-Mr H. Brinkjna .j-.trcasurer, Mr clerk of scales, Mr Hoglund; clerk of course, Air Irvine.. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to tho.President and secretary.
