JUNIOR FLAG.
Tho' sarocs were played under anything but pleasant conditions, the strong gale and driving, rain making good play impossible. The chief fixture in the Junior Flag Competition was the meeting of Old Boys and Linwood, played at Linwood Park. After a very oven game, tho former wero lucky to get homo by tho small margin of a point. Sydenham had a comfortable win against Kaiapoi, and Canterbury Collego wero easily disposed of by Christchurch. Albion could only draw with MarJsts Bros. In the President's Cup Competition, Christ's College went down rather unexpectedly to Christchurch A. Linwood A. easily accounted for Sydenham, while Albion A and Boys' High. School played a drawn game. : After an even game, Old Boys defeated Linwood, at Linwood Park, by 4 points to 3. Deans potted a goal for the winners, and Edmonds • kicked a penalty for Linwood. Referee: Mr J. F. Peake. *' Playing on tho Canterbury Collego ground, Christchurch defeated the Collego team by 29 points to nil. Mullins (2), Barrell (3), Murray (2), and Parkinson, scored tries. Perrin kicked a penalty and Wallace.converted, a try. Referee: Mr Hickinbottom. Albion and Marist Bros, played a drawn game on the. North. Park, each sido.scoring 3 points. Woodham kicked a penalty goal for Marists. and Moir ecored a try for Albion. Referee: Mr A. Alexander. . ■ Sydenham defeated Kaiapoi on the former's ground by 13 points t0.6.. For the winners C Johnson scored two tries and J. Appleyard one, and-Gny converted two. For Kaianoi Pearce kicked a penalty goal and Millar scored a try. Referee: Mr Cockayne. Merivale a bye.
