RANGIORA BOWLING, TENNIS AND CROQUET CLUB.
The seventh annual meeting of the Kangiora Bowling, I'ennis and Croquet Ulub was held on Wednesday evening, and wae attended by about forty members. Mr J. Sansom, President, occupied the chair.
The balance-sheet submitted by the treasurer (Mr H. C. Wilson) showed the ieocipta to have been £1603 2s 3d, including loans £1200, members' subscriptions' £227 5a Gd, billiards £120 13s, and donations £45. The expenditure amounted to £1777 7s 9d, the principal items being:—Loan repaid £300, cost of new pavilion £973 10a 4d, lurniture £131 Ba, billiard table £107 15s 6d, and wages £94 9s. Th-e assets were stated to be £1818 17s, and liabilities £1595 15s Gd, leaving a credit balpiico of £223 Is 6d.
Tho President, in moving the adoption of ♦■he Kalance-eheet, warmly congratulated the members on the highly flourishing condition oi the club. end on now' euch a handsome, commodious and well furnished pavilion. Hestated that a visitor who had travelled throughout New Zealand, told him that no other place in the Dominion possessed such a complete ground and pavilion for recreative purpose?.
Mr D. W L Mehrtena seconded the Chairman's motion. wh : eh was carried.
Mr H. C. D. Van Aach pointed out fhnt the income from the members' eubscriptions met the current expenditure, and he euppe»ted that the receipts from the two bil'jard table?, estimated at'£lso per annum, should be made s Binkinjj fund to pay ofi the mortgage on the property. The reports on the season's play of the different eections of the Club were very Fatigfactorv, the senior croquet team havng , cU=tino-nißried themselves by winning the Chamnionshin of Crntcrbriry. The bowlers also met with cone ; derp.ble enccesa in tbeir matches, and the tennis section had the bet seeson's play for the past three or four years.
