LADIES' HOCKEY.
SIX-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT.
Tho G-a-side tournament to be held on June 3rd, under tho auspices of the Canterbury Ladies' Hockey Association, promises to bo aa gTeat a succers as the one- held last year. A large number of teams have entered in both grades, and competition for supremacy will no doubt be keen, as Miss Bassett, president of the Canterbury Ladies' Hockej' Association, is presenting a challenge cup for competition for the Senior Grade, and E. Rid.ey, Esq., one for the Jun.or Grade. The games will bo played on the Polo Grounds in the South Park, the first matches starting at 11 a.m. Tho committee has made most complete arrangements, and if the weather is fine nothing , shouicl prevent tho tournament from being most interesting to both players nnd spectators alike. A collection wi.l be taken, on the ground in aid of the expenses of the representative team. Owing to some of the entries being delayed, the draw for the above tournament will be published on Saturday, Juno Ist.
