The absorption by the 2v"«w Zealand Shipping Go. of the Australasian business of Messrs Hculder Bros., Ltd., lias been expected almost ever since tho Federal Company came within tho foldj and., now it is a matter"of tad.. Tb-c agreement was signed yesterday. Tho Houldcr Line consists of nine large vessels of a gross tonnage ef tona, but only four of tbece are concerned in the transaction, the remainder being , engaged in tho Rivea: Plato trade.
"Tho Times," commenting on the absorption, says.—"Tho Now Zealand Company ie now closely concerned in tho Australasian tfaffic. It would scorn almost as if with ite increasing ramifications tlio Company will havo to consider the desirability ot nnxnding , its namo to hidicato suitably its extended buainess."
