ORGANISATION IN CANTERBURY,

IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT.

Several weeks ago negotiation- woro tet afoot between the executive of the Farmers' Political Protection Fedora*tion and tho Canterbury Political Reform League, with a view to joining forces. Tho matter -was very fully discussed during Mr Massey's visit to Chri-tchurch, and at a mcetins in the A. and P. Society's rooms on the 10th ultimo- This meeting was largely attended by i-upporters or tho Reform Party from all parts of Canterbury, and after an address, from Mr Massey a resolution was carried recommending; the executives of thc League aud tho Federation to meet and arrange a bas's of amalgamation. This v.afc done, and in due course the proposals of the executives were ratified in turn at meetings of the members of both organisations. The position vow is that the Farmers' Political Federation has been merged into the New Zealand Reform League. The constitution and platform of the New Zealand Reform Party have been adopted, and the organisation of the party in both city and country electorates is to be continued vigorously and without any delay. Mr David .lor.c:< has been appoiuted organ Uer of the league, aud Mr W. F. Hikon secretary.
