SEDGEMERE,

At tho annual meeting oi parishioners of St. Mark's Church, Sedgmere. thero was an attendance of twenty, thc vicar, the Rev. H. G. Hawkins, presiding. Mr H. Schne'le read tho statement of accounts, showing a credit balance ot* £6 4s Id, which was adopted. A letter was read from St. "Saviours, Sydenham, asking for the co-operation of tho church people oi" tho district in obtaining equitable rights for women in tho government of thc church. Tho letter was received, and a resolution was passed approving of tho object. Thc vicar nominated Mr H. Schnolle as Bishop's AA'ardon. and Mr G. Cooper was appointed People's Warden. The following were appointed to constitute a vestry: —Messrs F. Schnello, G. Vinco, A. McLaughlin, 11. Fincham, H. Cooper, T. B. Howson, jun., and L. Isles. Tho usual votes of thanks were accorded Mr Schnello, tho lay-aeader, tho retiring church officers, organist, and all who had assisted in church work during the year. A harvest thanksgiving service* took place.at St. Mark's Church. Sedgemere, on Sunday evening. Considering tho state of the weather there was a verj good congregation. The church was very nicely decorated, and special hymns wore sung. Tho vicar, the Rev.. H G. Hawkins, preached an appropriate sermon.
