Charles Geisler (Mr Leathern), on two charges of procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, was fined 10s and costs on each information, and Louisa Geisler was also fined ]0s and costs on a .similar charge, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. DRINK AND COMPLICATIONS. Kenneth McLeod appeared on charges of drunkenness, obscene language, and assaulting a police constable. Tho Magistrate said accused was a public nuisance, convicted him on all three, charges, and ordered him to come up for sentence when called on, tho warrant to ito suspended provided he stayed in the .Salvation Army Homo for three months. MAINTENANCE. For disobeying a maintenance- order, John Reynolds was convicted and sentenced to three months' imprisonment, the warrant to bo suspended,, provided arrears were paid at the rnto of 10s a week. Michael Tiney (Mr E. T. Harper), c.hargetl with failing to maintain' his wife, was ordered to pay -is a.week towards her support. John Samuel Taylor, for disobedience of his maintenance order, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.' ..• '-THEFT.. .■.'.■,' '!■-■ Xconard 'Eilwards* (alias;" *'Williamsj alias Gilligan), charged with stealing property "valued; at 32s 6d, was conf jyieted, and sentenced to three months' i imprisonment with hard labour. Francis McVey was adjudged' tho putative father of; an unborn illegitimato' child, and was ordered to find surety in £100 that he would comply with a maintenance order to bo nuidd layer on. '■'"■'. A DEFENDED CASE. I Ernest Sefton. contractor., of New i Brighton (Mr Wright), claimed from the New Brighton Borough Council (Mr G. Harper) £'200 for work done and expenses incurred in connection therewith. After hearinrj evidence decision was I reserved.
