The Nev.- Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Kunimca arrival n1 Auckland on Friday last from St. John, Canada, via Melbourne and Sydney. The second officer (Mr T. W. Jones, R.X.H.) reports that the Karuniei sei'cd from St. John on February 21st, and experienced fine weather till nrrivnl at Capetown cm March Bth. The'cnlt was made for stores end for medical advice. Captain Cliflon-Mopg having contracted « severe attack of rheumatic fever. The weaIher continued ilno niter leaving Capetown till reaching the latitude, of Cape Lceuwin. where the vessel run into a heavy southerly gale, which lasted till reaching Cape Otway. Tho Karamen arrive*! at Melbourne on April O'li, and at Sydney on April 18th. .In all 4573 ton* of cargo •.vc-ie nif charged .it Australian port?. Departure was taken for Auckland on April OOth. and before tho vessel was clear of the Australian coast a heavy easterly pale win niel with. Tlk- wind then worked to the fouth, the storm increasing in violence, and retarding '.ho vessel's progress considerately. The vessel lias 1707 tons of general cargo for New Zealand ports. \ Captain W. P. Clifton-Mo;*:?. R.N.R.. is still in command, and with him are Mr K. JManner?. E.NT.R., chiet officer• Mr T. \V. .Jonc, U.N.1!., second: Mr H. C. Milliard, third; Mr It. K. C. Ford, fourth; Mr R. Fiii!avf=on is chief engineer, end is assisted by Messrs C. Marmicn, J. Mackenzie. ItCumraings. n.nd C. Ko!«, second, third, fourth, nx.d fifth engineers respectively. Mr 1). Dunr. is the chief and Mr S. Loftua s>econd refrigerating enginepi<>. Mr J. Mclntosh is the boilormuWr. and Mr I!. Wasjland chief s'eward. The Karnnicst is due here early next week.
