SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, supplied tho following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday:— Stormy weather lias been experienced in most parts of tho country. "Much snow lias fallen in the high country in tho South, and hail nhowPTS are reported in several districts. Westerly and southerly winds, strong to pale, have prevailed. The barometer hes been very unsteady. Present indications are ior cold and stormy weather, with hail, rain, end snow in parts, strong wosioriy winds veering to southerly pales generally, and the barometer rising fast everywhere soon. A high barometric pressure, may be anticipated, with an im-. provement in weather conditions after fiftyeix to sixty-eight hour?.
