Mr Norton Francis, who is retiring from the Waimate Mayoralty after four years' service, was publicly presented on Monday with an illuminated address. Mrs Francis was given a rose bowl. market yesterday he was presented with a shaving outfit by the freezing buyers and dealers. The presentation was made by Mr W. Graham, who expressed appreciation of the manner >n which Mr Parsons had done business with them, and their good wishes for bis future in his new position. Tho staff of the .Association's auction department made Mr Parsons a parting gift i: a set of pipes, and he received .% similar present from the farmers of the Cast district on the last ealo day at Cust.
