PARISH MEETINGS.
ST. JOHN'S, RANGIORA. The annual meeting'of tho parishioners of tho Church of St. John the Baptist, Rangiora, was held on Monday evening. There was a good attendant, the vicar, the Rev. F. I*. Fondall, presiding. ■ The vicar's report stated that the past year had been a quiet, one, and yet he hoped good and lasting work had been dope. One'result of the mission held, eighteen months' ago was seen in the increased attendance at the Communion. On Easter Day 154 persons partook of the sacrament; a record number. Very good work 'had been done by the organist and choir, and its efficiency had been increased. The services at St. Mary's, Southbrook, had been better attended than formerly, and the offertories there had increased in proportion. Tho vicar tendered his best thanks to the lay readers for their good work during the year; also to tho Sunday school teachers, the organist and choir, the members of the vestry, and all other church workers. The parishioners' warden, Mr I). Mehrtcns, read the statement of accounts for the year, which showed that tho debt on the roofing fund had been reduced by a substantial amount, and that the small debit balance due on the ordinary account for the year would bo mot by some outstanding subscriptions. The balance-sheet was adopted. Hearty votes of thanks wore accorded to the vicar, the choir and organist, and all other church workers. Tho virar nominated Mr E. R. Good as his warden, and Mr" l>. W. L. Mehrtens was re-elected people's warden. The following were elected vestrymen:—Messrs A. W. Vincent, H. l>. Van Asch, R. H. Walker, A. 8. Uruce, Wm. Hamilton. A. Golding, and James Pearce. Mr M. Amy was re-eleoted auditor.
