It was hoped to reduco t!io advertising expenses by £301) this year. Tho next iesUval will open on November 13th, and the duration will depend on tho number of entries received. Judges for tho forthcoming festival are:— tion. Mr J. F. Montague (Auckland); music, .Mr Sidney Wolf (I)nnedin): literature, Mr W. T. Ward (Wellington). A grand Chappell piano has been presented by F. J. Pinny and Co. Lord Islington was elected patron. Dr. Izard president, and Mr James Dykes secretary.
