It belonged to the potato J family. All parts of tho plant wero j narcotic and poisonous, especially the | seed, and during times when feed was short stock had been known to eat it Av:th fatal results. Received with , thanks.

Association, stating that at an informal meeting of the committee the question of the clashing of the dates of .tho Timaru and Ashburton , Shows had been considered, and it was j regretted that Timnru could not sec ' its way to alter its dates from the last Wednesday and Thursday in October. It was decided to write to and inter- ; view tho Timaru committee with a view to tho Timaru Show being held on the Tuesday and Wednesday, so that the Ashburton dates could bo fixed for Thursday and Friday, October 31st and November Ist. |

A letter was read from Mr Walter Pickles, agent for tho British and New Zealand Meat and Produce Company, enclosing a cheque for £3 3s. amount of the special prize offered at the .Summer Show for a of fat lambs showing the best net results after being frozen and exported.
