HINDS.

(Jood Friday and Easter were heartily observed in the district of Hinds. St. Luke's Church was practically full, on Good Friday night at a Passion lantern service, the slides for which (very .beautiful ones) were kindly lent by Rev. G. W. Harding, of Waikouaiti. The vicar was able to celebrate Holy Communion :n nearly evcrj* part of the district on •Easter-Day, and St., Luke's Church, which was exquisitely decorated with white flowers, gifts from far and near, saw a much larger -gathering, of communicants than last year, and was well filled at night, when there was a most hearty service. At Coldstream also there were very good congregations on Gocd Friday.and at noon on Faster Day on which occasion the hall was tastefu.Uy and appropriately decorated. The great proportion of men at all the (services was striking.. and seems to prove that the Church is not losing her hold in the country.
