TEMPLETON CAMP

Reveille sounded in the Templeton Camp at 6 o'clock yesterday morning, and the men engaged in semaphore signalling anel physical drill. In the afternoon squad competitions wero held, ami the first battalion parade of the camp wa.s held at 3.10. Heavy rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, commenced to fall at about 4 p.m., and operations were delayevl for about half an hour only. The Engineers constructed facines and two huts —one of straw and one in which the l Government tarpaulins were _tiliseel. Dospit© the rain tho tents remained comparatively dry, and the men contrived to make themselves very comfortable. Great interest is being taken in the sports meeting and smoke concert, to bo held to-morrow afternoon and evening.
