When tho military training' -system was instituted, a Defence League was formed here with tho object of assisting tjm Government and the authorities iv carrying it out. fjecpntly there has been considerable dissatisfaction with the way in which the compulsory clauses of the scheme have beep administered, an<| a fear that unless tbe spirit of the law is carried out, thescheme may. after all, end in failure. A "deputation from the League will, tomorrow, vvptt upon the s'inist $■ of Defence (the Hon. A. M. Myers) with, a view to ascertaining the r.riual position. The deputation will bo headed, by Mr W. Indeed, it is i.nggestcd that they may attend at the same time as Mr Fraser's deputation, in which case the proceedings may bo lively.
