HISTORIC CASTLE DAMAGED.
United Press Association—By Electric Te legr a p h—Copy n gh t. LONDON, April 7. The historic Gibbstown Castle, at Month, has been partially burnt. Tho damage amounts to .£40,000. (press association- telegram.) AUCKLAND, April 8. The Northern Timber Company's mill at Taupiri was burned to the ground on Sunday morning. The company's papers and safes were saved. It is believed that the insurance amounted to about £1000, but the loss should exceed this amount. About 70 men will be thrown out of work.
