United Press As?ociation—By JSlectrio Telegraph— Copyright.

OTTAWA, April 7. Tho Quebec "Chronicle" says that ir has been decided to treat the question of naval defenco on non-party lines, and that tenders will be immediately called for thc construction of two super-Dreadnought cruisers. Meanwhile Canada will represent to Britain and tho Dominions that naval autonomy is essential, and representation at the centre of tho Empire imperative. This can bo met only by tho creation of au Imperial squadron to which Britain and the Dominions will contribute, and which will bo controlled by a special Admiralty Board, the contributors to be represented thereon. • Tho " Chronicle " points out that Canada's interest as n nation demands that she, similarly with America and tho South American States, be able to show her flag by naval visits, whichivm play an important part in improving trade relations with other countries. Canadian-manned shirts should protect her interests throughout tho world.
