LION HUNT NEAR PARIS.

The lion D'Artagnan, the most fero;ious animal in any French menagerie, is dead. He had mauled so many trainers that it was difficult to find anyone willing to enter his cage, so it was decided to shoot him; but he died •gloriously in the open, in the beautiful forest of" Fontaineblcau. D'Artagnan was sold to a cinematograph company, taken to the forest, and set free. Ho was climbing a rock, when he noticed a horse tied to a tree. While the animal trembled With terror the lion crept up and crouched for a spring. But at that moment a picturesque cowboy ran forward, raised his rifle, fired, and tho lion fell dead.
