GOVERNOR'S BAY.
The annualjthanksgiving for.the harvest was held in St. Cnthbert's,Church on Sunday. The church was tastefully decorated with flowers, fruit; vegetables, evergreens, etc. There »v?.s a moderate attendance in the morning, and a large congregation in the evening, when th» vicar delivered an eloquent and -appropriate sermon. Tho cocksfoot harvest is about- over in this part of the district, but a considerable portion of tho crop lying in the higher ranges of the Peninsula is still unthreshed, and is considerably discoloured and damaged by "the wet and broken weather. It has been a" roost trying and disappointing .season for those engaged in the grass seed industry. '■'Green feed for the stock is very plentiful, and there is an abundance of vegetables. There are quito a large number of haystacks showing
in tho paddocks, which will be of great service for the stock during tho ccin-nj? winter.
