ST. PATRICK'S BAY CONCERT.
The annual St. Patrick's Day concert given in the Theatre Royal last night in aid of Nazareth House, was a most enjoyable entertainment, and attracted an overflowing house. The programme was composed mostly of songs appropriate to the day, and tho different items were received most enthusiastically. Bttnz's Theatre Orchestra played the first overture, and the Christchurch Banjo Band tho second. Tho boys of the Marist Bros. School gavo a statue drill, and tho girls of tho Convent School a medley, which comprised songs and choruses and dances, nil being vory nicely "accomplished. Mp.«srs Cookson, Vincent, March, and Millar, contributed several most enjoyable quartets, and Miss Alice Saunders gave a recitation "Paddy's Courtship," for which sho received a double encore. Tho vocalists wero Miss Bessie Robinson, who sang "Tho Harp That Once," Mrs W. J oil "Killarney," Mr A. L. Cropp "She is Far From the Land," Miss \ era Humphreys "Believe Mo if all Those Endearing Young Charms," Mr Geo. March "Tho Minstrel Boy." and Mrs John Fraser. A violin solo was also played by Miss Irene Morris. The audience was most appreciative, and practically every item was encored. At tho close of the first part Bishop Grimes stnted that tho Sisters at the Nazareth House wished to thank very sincerely those who had organised tho concert, and carried out the programme, also those who by their presenco that evening had made the enterprise such a success.
