Ho entered tho Canadian Parliament -" in 1867, and held a seat until 1891. Ho was also a member of the Ontario State Parliament from 1867 to 1872. -Ho was Primo Minister of Ontario 1871-72, and Minister of Justice and Attorney-General for Canada 1875-77, and President of Council 1877-78. Ho 1 sat as Nationalist member for South j Longford in tho British House of Com- ' "mens from 1892 to 1907. Ho will be remembered in New Zealand as having ''acted as arbitrator in the dispute be- ' '.tween tho New Zealand Government and tho Midland Railway Company.]
