WOOLLEY'S FINE PERFORMANCE.
SYDNEY. March 2. The "Morning Herald" says that tho fifth was undoubtedly Woolley's test match. Ho scored 133 when his side was collapsing, and bowled threo men for 37 runs, whilo he also effected five catches, three of them brilliant ones. Whilo admittinz that in the threo previous tests Australia was outclassed, tho "Herald" says the treacherous wickot was a potent factor in tho last victory.
The "Daily Telegraph" declares that WooHey's remarkable catch which dismissed Minnett was tho turning point of tho game. Tho Australians did well considering tho state of tho wicket. On paper tho Australians looked tho better team, but they wero fairly beaten in batting, bowling, and fielding.
ADELAIDE, March 2. The Town Hall was crowded last night when a public meeting was held to discuss tho cricket crisis, tho Mayor presiding. Tho Board's action was strongly condemned, and the meeting expressed its sympathy with the six.
SYDNEY, March 2. Mr P. F. Warner, replying to a toast at a social, regrotted that the best Australian team would not compete in the first triangular matches. Hill would, bo missed in England, and Trumper was tho idol of tho British public. Ho considered tho present English team would beat any that had previously visited Australia.
