The •weather is clearingYesterday's rainstorm ■ was extremely violent, 4.16 in.' falling in a few hours. During a portion of the' time the rate of falling was 5 inches an hour. Tho damage was extensive. A, passenger on a tram at Darlinghurst was struck by lightning and knocked off the car, suffering severely from shock. By a cloud-burat at Caperlee, near Lithgow, ICOO tons of rocks were washed down tho mountain side, blocking the railway and tho road. Trucks and ooalslrips were either buried or swept away. Tie floors of hoiusea were covered with silt to the depth of several feet, and two bridges were earned away. '
