A fierce thunderstorm, followed by torrential rain, occurred at three o'clock, and heavy rain has since continued. Tho cricket ground is flooded. Lightning fused some of tho tram wires, stopping traffic for a time. Lightning also fused some of the electric fittings in the American Picture Palace. A big audience rushed the doors, and several peoplo were knocked down in the scramble, but they sustained no serious injury.
