SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

At a meeting of tho Linwood North School Committee, correspondence was read from tho Board of Education agreeing to provide extra desks required by the increased attendance. The headmaster (Mr F. T. Evans) reported that tho roll number was 474, the average attendance for tho past four -weeks 430, the highest attendance 453. It was resolved to grade a portion of tho playground, and to ask tho Board of Education for a supply of screenings. Tho school bath being now completed, at was decided to hold the opening ceremony on Thursday,. Marck 7th. The secretary's report showed that tho sum of £50 was still required to meet all liabilities in connection with the bath. Mr J. Oxlev was appointed caretaker for the remainder of the season.
