BEIRUT BOMBARDED.
(Received February 26th. 12.55 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, February 25. Aiessages state that Ital an warships demanded the surrender of the corvette Avnillah and a torpedo-boat, and before a reply could be given, possession was taken of both. Neither was under uteara. The Custom House and harbour buildings wore damaged by a bombardment, which created a panic. Many fled to Lebanon, and others were forced to take refuge in the armoury. They aimed theniselvee, and. ihere were some disturbances in the town. Altogether fifteen were killed and 100 wounded.
