The " Westminster Gazette" intei> viewed Sir John Kirk, secretary of ibo Ragged Schools' Union, who has just returned from a visit to Australasia. Sir John Kirk said that the public consciences of Australia and New Zealand was keen on questions concerning the welfare of children. The reason of this was twofold, as the people valued the children for their own sakes, and also because additional population was required.
