RAILWAY DEPARTMENT'S COAL SUPPLY.
WHARF-LABOURERS DISSATISFIED. (Received February 12th, 12.20 a.m.) BRISBANE, Febrsuary 11. Strike matters aro Quiet. Tho Railway Department has a, good supply of coal, which, the Commissioner says, can be augmented with wood, and mado to last for several months. Hβ is determined not to order coal from Newcastle for fear of precipitating trouble thore. It is stated tnat tho Federated Seamen's Unions held a ballot on tho question of returning to work, though tho result has not yet been announced. Several ■waterside-workers express dissatisfaction at bearing the brunt of the struggle. Thoy came out with the idea of a general strike, and do not relish being kept out while others are returning to work.
