HANMER SPRINGS, A most successful concert, given in aid of the newly-formed Hanmer Golf Club, was held in the Town Hall oa Boxing night. Musical items were given by Misses Rima Young, Doris Mclntyre, 1). Lezard, E. Smith, and Messrs A. L. Cropp and H. Heatloy. Humorous items were given by Mr E. Armstrong and were greatly appreciated. A dance followed the concert, and suitable music i was kindly supplied by Miss Fairhum. KAIAPOI. Mr F. Harrison, of Kaiapoi, who met i with an accident on. Saturday by the i flashing of some kerosene, is gradually I recovering the effects of his bruises, ■which were on his arms principally. AKAROA. The unfavourable weather has been a great drawback to .the number of holi-day-makers visiting the various holiday resorts; Akaroa suffering particularly in this respect. A& this period of last year accommodation was not procurable, 'all hotels being crowded to excess, j whereas this year, though a goodly 1 number of visitors are in tho town, I there is accommodation to spare, none 'of the places being absolutely; full.
