LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD.
Tho Lytielton Harbour Board met yesterday, when there were prceent: — Messrs It. Moore (in tho chair), J. Storry, T. D. Boag, C. Cook, M. J. Miller, F. Horroll/A. Kaye, C. Allison. Mr G. Laurenson forwarded notice of motion to rescind paragraphs 1. 2 and 3 of tho Harbour Improvement Committee's report Xo. IG6, with a view to substituting tho following:— NOTICE OF MOTION. 1. That permanent employees absent through sickness who have been in tho Board's service for'under two years may be allowed full pay for a period not exceeding two weeks in any one jear. Those who have been in the Board's service for over two years, up to fivo years, may bo allowed* full pay for a period not exceeding one month iii any ono year; while permanent employees who have been in the Board's service for over five years may be allowed full pay for a period not exceeding three months in any one year, while absent through sickness. Leave granted on a doctor's certificate. 2 In caseof accidents, that the Board may grant to Harbour Board permanent employees two months' leave on full pay, and after the lapse of two months, according to tho provisions of the Accident Insurance Act, provided that tho pay of any employee, from all eources, while incapacitated by reason of the accident, shall not exceed that of his ordinary salary or wages during a similar period. Leave granted on a doctor's certificate. 3. (1) That the following permanent employees of the Lytteltc.ii Harbour Board are entitled to two weeks' holiday on full pay in each yoar:—(2) .-Ml office staff and officials; (3; all Harbourmaster.l - ; officials (no overtime); U) all officers and men on the tugboat Lyttelton (no overtime); (5) all permanent emplo3'ees in the Lyttelton Haibour Board's stores; (6) "all permanent employees at the graving dock, ■o'eetric light, and cool chambers" (7) employees can allow holidays to accumulate lor two years, but no longer; (S) after U'tx years' service, tho chfrrinan may grant a Jongor term than two weoks in v ,year; (9) the date of holidays to be at the discretion of the chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board; (10) dredgers (working overtime), ten days between Christmas and New Year's Day; (11) general employees, Saturdays only or statutory holidays. GENERAL. The date of the next meeting waa fixed for January 10th, 1912. Accounts amounting to £10,427 were passed for payment.
