Mr Justice Isaacs, in tho High Court, commenced tho delivery of judgment in ' tho Coal Vend caso. It is expected to occupy two days. Shortly stated, the caso amounted to allegations against the Associated Northern Colliery Proprietors and certain steamship owners of entering on a con- . tract to restrain inter-S.tato trade lin Maitland and Newcastle coal in contravention of tho Industries Preservation Act to tho detriment of tho public. Tho defence was a general denial of tho charges. j ■ In tho course of his remarks, Mr 3 Justice Isaacs said that the whole J > course and conduct of both sets of do- . fondants indubitably established that t from tho latter part of 1906 they wero : working together under somo agree- . ment, and on the evidence disclosed, j tho allegations as to tho combination j and its continuance down to tho commencement oT tho action, had, been 3 proved. Other important issues havo still to 6 be dealt with.
