Mr McKenna has appointed a Committee, with Lord Mersey as chairman, to enquire into the constitution of juries, their qualifications, and the mod* of selection, and to find if any amendments are desirable.
Mr Claudo Hay has been awarded £2500 damages against the "Star" and Leader" for libel in connection with the Hoxton election. The papers alleged' that he had visited schools for political reasons.
