' Trie.fatal tram smash which occurred on tho Mount Eden line on the*evening of September 18th, resulted in charges of manslaughter being brought against John Watson, the motorman of S?Vti th{ ?, toms involved, and 'John Mc&ellar, tho driver of the lorry which was the first vehicle struck by the tram car. Ihe charges were heard at the bupreme Court today. The jury found both of tho accused not guilty, and they were discharged. , .
