The following is a statement of the Customs duties collected at the port of Lylt<>lton during tho week onded yos- ; terday:—Spirits £1855 14s lid: cigars, •etc., £299 13s 4d; tobacco £1249 16s Id; wino £153 3s 4d; hcer £50 3s; i surtax 6s lid ; cocoa, cofFoe, and chocolate £12 13s; weight £Sl4 15s sd; ad valorem £3538 0* lid; other duties £976 4s 6d; total £9250 8s lid. Messrs T. E. Shiel and Co.. fruit auctioneers, Dunedin—actual prices received during the week:—Tomatoes— scarce, choice hothouse Is to Is 10d; asparagus, from 4s to 6s per dozen hunches; cucumbers, 8s 6d to 9s 9d per dozen; new potatoes, 10s to 12e per cwt. ; gooseberries, large green 3} por lb. ; peas, 3d to 3-Jd per lb.; cauliflowers, 7s to 8s per sack; cabbages, 3s 6d to 4s per sack; strawberries. Is 4d to Is 9d per lb.; rhubarb, 6s to 7s Gd per cwt.; walnuts, 7d per lb.; cherries. Is 2d to Is 4d per lb. Consignments recommended; daily account sales and cheque.
