Gls, 61s Od; May Queen. Id; Northern Coal, lis; Wiseman, Ltd., 21s 6d. . (special to "titx tress.") AUCKLAND, November 6. Business was brisk in mining shares on the Exchange this morning. Occidental Consolidated had a sharp .rise from 2s lOd at the opening sale to 4s Id before the 10 o'clock call ended. Further, transactions took place during the morning, and at the noon call the first lot of Occidentals wore transferred at 4s. Then free selling brought the price down to S3 sd, after which further parcels wero placed at 3s 6d. aiiis is a really remarkable rise, in face of the fact that until'the noon call no news was posted cegarding any further developments in the mine. Somo 7000 of these shares were transferred at the nosn call. During the interval before the 3 o'clock call the newß which came to hand was not so reassuring, and the chares, starting at 3s Bd, dropped xapidly to 3s 6d
