Owing to the holidays this week tho fortnightly stock sale was hold at Leeston. lust. Friday, instead of next Friday. Owing to the fact that tho previous sale was hold only a week be- . ■fore, the entry of stock was mticn : smaller than usual. There was a good demand for all elates of fat stock, ana prices for store stock remained firm. Good dairy cattle continued to realise ■ tho satisfactory rricce ruling of late. The only entry of sheep was a small ; line of fat ewes, which made Ms. Ihe : entry of pigs was very small. Oh op- ■ nors' made up to 02s, baooners to 47e, - ! and porkers from 2G> to 42s Gd. Large ! stores brought 21s to 28s, medium li ? s tkl to 18s. and small from 7s Gd. ihe : cattle, yards contained a fair entry, and , ! some of the animals were of Rood quality. Young springers and bulls sold very well. Springers made £1 /?- fxl to £10. a fat heifer £8 ss, fat stoor £3 ss, yearling to cighteen-months-old bulU £3 Is to £-1 4s, yearling cattleI -Nis. Several pons of hmrers, a few I youn~ built-,, and several cows wore i passed.
