POLLING DAY FIXED FOR DECEMBER 7th.

Tne Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward , ) informed a representative- of "Tho Press" on Saturday morning that •oolling day in connection with tho general ejections and the licensing issues was fixed for Thursday, December 7th. He stated that this date would not clash with any Show or other fixtures of importance in ine Dominion.

The Prime Minister firmly declined to be drawn on the subject of his anticipations regarding tho results of the general election, but appeared to ho facing tho verdict of the country with confidence. Sir Joseph goes South this morning, and -will begin his election campaign at Winton to-morrow night.
